Alphaville was born in early 1982, when Marian Gold and Bernhard Lloyd met in " Nelson Comunity ". At first band was called" Forever Young ". few months later they were joined by Frank Mertens. Together they wrote the song " Forever Young "and recorded their first demo with the same name.

In 1984, they changed its name to  Alphaville  and released their debut single ” Big In Japan “, which Gold had written in 1979 after listening to the band’s  Holly Johnson , ” Big in Japan “. In the autumn of that year they released their first album ” Forever Young . “ Despite the success you have had,  Frank Mertens  left the band in that year and was replaced in January 1985 Rickz Echolette .“Big in Japan”  has topped the charts in Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Sweden, Venezuela and the United States.
next two singles “ Sounds Like a Melody ”and” Forever Young ”were also successful in Europe reaching the first positions in the charts. 
In 1986 was released their second album, “ afternoons in Utopia ”, when it was launched single” Dance With Me ”. LP was followed in 1989 by “ The Brathtaking Blue ”, with songs such as” Romeo ”and” Mysteries of Love ”.The next album, “ Prostitute ”was released in 1994.
After the departure of  Ricky Echolette  in 1996, followed albums “ Salvation ”(1997) and” Stark Naked and Absolutely Live ”(2000).
In 2001 they released the DVD “ Little America ”, in the foreground two concerts in Salt Lake City.
After the release of “ CrazyShow ”in 2003,  Bernhard Lloyd  and he left the band.
Currently the band  Alphaville  are  Marian Gold  (vocalist),  Martin Lister (keyboards),  David Goodes (guitars) and  Pierson Grange  (drums).Europa FM, Kompas Teocta Events and Cultural Association is launching a new concept series: “Back to 80’s”, which will bring public attention to ’80s hits.
first bands invited to perform at this project are Alphaville and Bad Boys Blue .
